Flexible display |
At the end of the work, the large screen smartphone folded and placed it in pocket. Folding on a smartphone is the current trend. Samsung showed up, Huawei showed up, Motorola brought back the Razor. The types of folding are what they are called clam shells. LG is walking a different way without going into the fold. A recently filed patent application has been issued.
According to a report by Dutch media Let's Go Digital, LG has submitted the design of the mobile phone to the World Intellectual Property Office. It was released on November 15. Looking at the details and pictures, the screen can be magnified by dragging it horizontally instead of folding it on LG's phone. In other words, the tablet can be made by pulling a smartphone.
The genius of this technology lies primarily in the flexible screen wrap. However, the middle portion is supposed to be extremely thin when used in tablet form. And the size of the smartphone will be slightly longer than the width.
LG has already shown the screen wrap technology. In the OLED TV R (65R9) model, the TV screen itself would be folded into the box below. Something like a shutter door. But downstairs. If the phone is truly up to the patent, which LG has patented, LG is looking to spread the wrapping technology of the screen in human hands. Possible names for the new phone may be Flex, Foldi or Dupli.
The biggest problem with flexible screens is the high cost. LG has not yet reported the price of the OLED TV R. The estimated thorns are fluctuating between $15000 and $50,000. The amount is too much for TV. There is no chance to say what will happen in the case of LG's phone.
However the idea is nice. Another thing is that companies are working on new ideas, not walking the path of Samsung or Motorola. Whether or not LG's phone will see the face of the light from the patent book, it is not possible to say before it comes to market.
