The United States' Apollo 11 was the first crewed mission to land on the Moon, on 20 July 1969. There have been six crewed U.S. landings (between 1969 and 1972) and numerous uncrewed landings, with no soft landings happening from 22 August 1976 to 14 December 2013.

Neil Armstrong made history by putting his first foot on the moon. However, after winning the moon, people's eyes have risen higher. Over the past decade, several satellites have examined the weather and environment of Mars. People are now thinking about winning Mars.
Many thought that maybe the moon would change people. But, people proved that there is no mutation in humans on the moon. Not only did people set foot on the moon, but it has also increased a lot of knowledge in science. People have gone to the moon six times since the Apollo-1 mission. People have studied the soil and the stones there. However, people are now focusing on Mars as it is very expensive to settle on the Moon. On the moon, people's confidence has increased. Man has proved that nothing is impossible for him. As a result of the moon, LEDs, solar panels, portable computers, digital cameras, GPS-maps, smoke detectors have been studied by many people. Because they have made everything smaller, to be sent to the moon. People are still enjoying its benefits.
To date, the United States is the only country to have successfully conducted crewed missions to the Moon, with the last departing the lunar surface in December 1972. All crewed and uncrewed soft landings had taken place in the near side of the Moon, until 3 January 2019 when the Chinese Change 4 spacecraft made the first landing on the far side of the Moon.
