| Facebook is turning off group chat!!! |
Facebook authorities have updated the privacy settings for the group. They are talking about updating this to make it easier to understand how the Facebook group feature works. As a Facebook group, there are no such sections as 'Public', 'Closed' or 'Secret'. From now on the group will be 'Public' and 'Private' only.
Facebook authorities say the change is being made to fit users' expectations and to clarify the issue more clearly. Here the managers of the group will have the option of how they want to show their group.
From now on, all Facebook groups will be subject to their specialized identification technology. Each group will be monitored by the Facebook team. Facebook has also identified the bad publishers in the content and group will take action.
Jordan Davis, product manager for Facebook Group, said earlier this year Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the social media site was like a digital version of Town Square or a home. In addition to interacting with people in public, private and intimate spaces are needed. Now the simple privacy model of the group is being introduced for people to think about. People's views were taken on the group's privacy settings. Members of the two groups, 'Public' and 'Private' will see the posts here.
Groups that were previously closed will now be 'Private' groups and will be visible in search. However, the previous 'secret' groups are now 'private' groups, but they will not appear in search.
Zuckerberg has been criticized over the past year for spreading fake news, including leaked information from Facebook. Earlier this year, he revealed several new Facebook business plans. He said that the future is 'private' or private communication. He wants to make such communication more secure.
Technology website Social Media Today reports that they were removing the special function of group chat launched in October last year. The facility was introduced to allow private interaction among members of the group beyond the comments of the post. Facebook did not provide a clear explanation for the option.
